Details
6:40 am: The wind remained sideonshore overnight, so semi-choppy to choppy surf. Looks not as big as yesterday with waves 1.5 to 2 feet with some occasional larger set wave to 3 feet early. Still swell on the local buoy the ealry wave height reading 4.6 feet at 6 seconds, down very so slightly from yesterdays 4.6 feet at 8 seconds. The marine forecast calling for SE winds @ 10-15 knots later today. The water temperature is measured at 74 degrees at The Pier this morning. And you can see the ocean live by viewing The Surf Station Cam Page here.
.
7:30 am: Early morning photos are up in box #1 and you can see we still have waves for your Tuesday. The swell has rotated even more south from yesterday. You can see some rights pushing up the beach at times. The last 3 photos in the slide show show a right pushing northward. Still somewhat choppy as the wind has not cooperated with the S to SSE wind making for cross chop to the surf. Looks like we will have choppy surf (but at least surf) all day again today…

12:45 pm: It’s looking a bit smaller than yesterday still, with waves in the 1.5 to maybe 2.5 foot range. The conditions are looking fair, with some cross chop from our local winds currently blowing at 11 knots out of the SSE. Our local buoy is down from this morning, currently reading 3.6 feet @ 6 seconds, down from this morning’s 4.6 second readings. It’s looking pretty weak at report time, breaking close to shore with a high tide coming up shortly at 1:43 this afternoon. Overall, it’s looking a little less choppy than early this morning, especially if you can find some southern wind protection there’s a little something out there to ride. In other good news, our Northside pier cam is back up and running so definitely check that out.

4:45 pm: Looking at the waves later on this afternoon, it looks like it’s improved since the tide switch earlier today. The waves aren’t breaking quite so close to the shore and the form is about the same with our local winds currently blowing out of the SSE @ 16 knots. There are some open barrels around the pier if you’re willing to put up with the disorganization.

Left up from last night:
8:00 pm Evening note / report: New evening photos are up in box #3 with photos in the front of end of the slide show are from early afternoon at THE DREDGE. Some fun dumping waves there! Then the last 8 photos in the slide show are from this evening taken at 15th Street. You can see the waves are choppy and not near as good.
What will tomorrow be like? We will see early early tomorrow morning.. over and out..
