“G-land”, is absolutely the most amazing place I’ve ever been. It takes a lot for me to say that considering the fact that I’m a pretty avid traveler. Where do I began, first off thank the sweet Lord I am out of Kuta. That place had me contemplating suicide, not really but it does suck there, unless you want to party and that is not why I came to Indonesia. When I got on the boat to come here, I was greeted by a fellow Floridian and come to find out he is originally from Atlantic Beach, small world huh? His name is Doug Gall and apparently he is one of the “Gringo’s” who helped develop Rincon, Puerto Rico into what is today a Caribbean surf mecca. We probably have a hundred mutual friends, we’ve been name dropping left and right. Ironically the staff bunked us together too. I’m pretty sure we’re the only red-necks in Java.
Bobby’s Camp is the original camp here at G-land and is definitely the best. The Indonesian staff is like no other, they are beyond hospitable. They remember everyone’s name by heart, which is a shock to me ‘cause I’m terrible with names. I feel bad I only remember one of the guys names, but I constantly talk and joke with all of them to show my appreciation. The food is unreal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner is different every day. Every evening before dinner they wheel a mini fridge full of complimentary BinTangs down to the beach to watch the sunset over reeling lefts. Ok, pause for a moment…As I am typing this one of the staff just caught a Green Mamba, one of the most deadly snakes in the world… Anyways, the camp is located in between “Money Trees” and “Speedies” the two most notorious sections of the wave and is loaded with bungalows, a huge open air patio with flat screen tv’s where everyone eats and relaxes, an internet room, a game room, and a full on movie theatre. Is this place real??? Its only been three days and the waves have been average for here, but are non the less world class. 3-5 ft and its still a freight training barrel, its tricky when its this small but I have still managed to get some good ones. I’d like to take the time and thank Surf Station’s shipping manager Ryan Riopko for getting me the HD Go Pro cam. I definitely got some clips to share from the tube, so stay tuned for those to come. Matt Ollis for dialing me in with good boards, and Zander for showing me how to do this blog, since I am not much of a blogger let alone a writer. 3 days left until I go back to Bali for another 2 weeks and the swell is on the rise, we’ll see what happens…

Ha, g-land is super fun when it’s “flat” and of course even better when the swell shows. looking forward to the stories Ross!
Exciting stuff man. I don’t think we’ve met, but I found your blog through SS. Great to hear about other bros out there living the dream. Keep the reports coming (and hopefully some pics or vids), and keep chargin’ brah….
