Cool temps and small-scale surf make for a challenging competition
Despite cooler temps and small-scale surf this past Saturday, the Florida Board Riders series returned to the Walkovers in North Vilano with gusto. With waves in the one to two foot range and semi-choppy conditions and water temps in the 50’s, the St. Augustine, Daytona, Ponte Vedra, and Jacksonville board riders clubs fought for a spot in the Florida Cup Championship. Our own St. Augustine Board Riders club put up a solid effort toward taking home the win, but ended up coming just five points short of 1st place to take home the silver. Impressively, our women’s team managed to score a total of 23.56 points, their highest score of the season.
Thanks to this past weekend’s performance, the St. Augustine team pushed their way up from 4th place in the Northern Division to 2nd place overall. We couldn’t be more proud of our home team securing their spot in the Florida Cup Championship!
