6:45 am: The ESE swell continues… it is similar in size of maybe a little bit smaller, with the wave height @ 1.5 to 2 feet with some occsional larger set waves. The surface conditions are semi-glassy to glassy, with the wind WSW early at less than 5 knots. Our marine forecast is calling for the wind to shift SE this afternoon and increase then . Our local buoy is currently reading 2.3 feet at 9 seconds, the same as yesterdays 2.3 feet at 9 seconds. Our water temperature is down to 82.6 degrees offshore. You can see the ocean live by viewing The Surf Station Cam Page here.

7:55 am: Early morning photos are up in box #1 and you can see we have waves! It’s been a pretty good July, right? Did you know statistically July is the flattest month fo the year? According to NOAA buoy date it is. But not over the past few days and again today as we have continued surf @ around thigh to rib high. There may be some chest high set waves at key spots at times. It’s weird because 2.3 feet on the buoy shouldn’t make for a chest high wave. It should be smaller. But maybe the dredging’s extra sand throughout county is helping? Who knows. it’s glassy this morning with the swell continuing to rotate ESE as the Bermuda High swell remains with us . On second look it looks every bit as big as yesterday, with no drop in size seen here, as of report time
.
1:45 pm: New afternoon photos are up in box #2 and they are quite interesting as you can see THE DREDGE is getting closer and closer to 10th Street (where the photos were taken from). The bullozers and crane and other big machinery remains and continues to work on the beach. A thundershoer is looming and the contrast of dark clouds and sun makes for some unique lighting in the photos. The waves? They are a little smaller than earlier as the buoy drops down a little offshore. Along the beach the waves look closer to knee to waist high at report time. There is some cross chop on top of the lines that were much cleaner this morning (and bigger too). With that said, we still could have aa fun incoming tide session as we get closer to dark. Lasts nights surf session sure was fun. We will see if it does it again tonight…
