6:55 am: Variable conditions at the beach with wave size @ 1 to 2 feet early-early. The surface conditions are semi-glassy early with fair form with the wind light & variable currently west early. The marine forecast calls for NE winds today. Our local buoy the early morning wave height reading is 3.6 feet at 8 seconds, down from yesterdays 4.6 feet at 7 seconds. The water temperature is measured at 82 degrees offshore this morning. You can see the ocean live by viewing The Surf Station Cam Page here.

7:55 am: Early morning photos are up in box #1 and on second look the waves look a little bigger than the first look. So need to change the data above as it’s more like 1-2+ feet as it looks knee to waist high with some slightly larger set waves maybe rib high once in a while. The offshore wind is trying to clean up these broken up peaks and lines. You can see it’s not real consistent as the photos capture times when there is not even a knee high wave, and other times the waves look sweet with some easily waist high peaks. How good the morning surf gets depends on how long this offshore wind lasts. It’s forccas to go onshore NE, which would undo and mess up any clean conditions and make the ocean choppy
.
1:00 pm: The buoy offshore increased a little bit in size since earlier so the surf is a little bigger. New photos taken mid morning are up box #2 and you can see we have some good waves for Gabe’s Grom Comp going on now at A-Street. The wind has picked up some since these photos were taken so it’s getting choppier….
