8:10 am: Early morning photos are up box #1 and you can see we have small overall waves but there are some knee high to knee high plus semi-glassy waves to be found. A beautiful sunrise at St. Augustine Beach…
.
11:50 am: New mid day photos are up box #2 and you can the surf is rather small. Not even seeing a surfer out. A nice day at the beach with waves fully longboardable but with no one surfing it’s hard to see how fun it is, or isn’t. Someone paddle out so we can take your picture!

Dean’s Surf Station Forecast calls for a minor “uptick” into mid-week along with a brief warming trend just ahead of the next strong cold front, which will be followed by a mini nor’easter building a significant increase in combo swell leading into and for the weekend. Here is a good link to accurately track real-time, near-shore surf temperatures off the NE Florida coast: the Fernandina Beach buoy. Located upstream (to the north) and closer to the coast than the St. Augustine buoy, it’s a good indicator of fluctuations in NE Florida surf temps influenced by northerly wind cold air outbreaks. Here is an overview of a large-scale, real-time wind map to track the shifting winds associated with the fronts and lows that produce our waves.
