I started my blog on Surf Station to share stories of my surf trips… which, needless to say, is so conventional. However, I am the opposite of conventional. Some people may agree, where as some people might not. Everyone will always have their own opinion, as they are entitled to. I have a habit of trying to always make everybody happy, which I know is an adopted concept from my Mom.
I am sick of judgement. It’s everywhere we turn. We are constantly judged by strangers and peers, much too often in a negative fashion, usually based solely on jumping to conclusions and rumors. As unfortunate as it may be, I am rather familiar with these happenings. I have always said believe nothing that you hear, and half of what you see. I am not trying to preach to the world to stop judging me personally, but to encourage to take a step back and look at things from several different perspectives before forming an opinion.
I am Haley. I am an old soul in a young body. I am 19, and wise beyond my years. I am a surfer, and a free spirit. I am sassy and I work hard. I always try my best, even though sometimes it might not be enough. I want to restore faith in people, and am doing all I can to make a difference in our society.
Right on! You are sooo right. People should judge themselves as harshly as they judge others. Maybe when they hurt their own feelings a couple times they will understand how wrong they are. Society is turning into a cess pool of anger and hatred that is going to destroy us all. As a father of a 5 year old who is learning to surf it is a serious problem. I am a 45 year old well travelled surfer who misses the laid back sessions back in the day. I have been involved in more confrontations in the water in the last 5 years then in the previous 30. Surfing is supposed to be fun not stressful.
