First Coast Surfrider is meeting at the SURF STATION, Thursday, May 22 at 7 p.m. Come meet great people and learn how you can help protect St. Augustine’s ocean, waves, and beaches. You don’t have to be a member to attend!
The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world’s oceans, waves and beaches. Founded in 1984 by a handful of visionary surfers in Malibu, California, the Surfrider Foundation now has over 50,000 members and 80 chapters worldwide.
Established in 2002, the First Coast Chapter has initiated many important environmental and political action campaigns to protect local beach access and the quality of our beaches and waterways. Current programs include “Rise Above Plastics”, our plastic pollution reduction and education program, and “Not the Answer”, our campaign against seismic airgun testing and drilling off the coast of Florida.
Surfrider isn’t just for surfers. It’s for anyone who loves our ocean and beaches and is concerned about their protection for the future.
