Matt Weatherford!
At an early age, I knew I was completely infatuated with the history of the old school longboard era. Blame it on Bruce Brown films or my roots in a small town with even smaller surf? Donald Takayama was always one I admired and his boards were all I ever wanted as a young kid living in Hawaii. Flash forward to the present: I have amassed a collection that I could have only dreamt of as a kid. While sadly, a few gems have come and gone by the wayside, the ones that currently remain are my favorites. 1- 1965 @bingsurfboards Takayama Model. With the help of @mattcalvani & the great @bingcopeland, they sent me the lineage and even a picture of the log book showing when Donald Shaped it back in 65′. Truly honored to have a piece of history resting in my racks. 2- 9’0 ITP In EPS with baby blue resin tint. 3- 9’4 ITP shaped in EPS with a rad neon resin dip. 4- 9’6 Ehukai model which is fairly new to my collection. 5- 9’6 Noah Comp in EPS with a white resin dip. 6- 9’5 carbon/xenon Guy Takayama GT-2 (I know, it’s not a DT, but Guy is DT Ohana!) and that Kook in the middle? Well that Kook is me.
