Hey everyone,
The Hurricane Florence Swell was a big, tropical swell earlier in September. Hurricane Florence was EXTREMELY unusual with the path it took. A high pressure ridge to the north kept pushing it further and further west instead of curving to the north, like normal hurricanes do in that region. This caused a nightmare scenario of Florence making a US landfall. It did eventually make landfall in North Carolina with several 100mph+ gusts recorded along the coast. Many people are still affected by this horrific event. It wasn’t so much for the storm surge or the wind, but for the rain! Several areas recorded 30″+ in 3-4 days! Freshwater flooding disasters occurred! Pray for the people of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
Now, onto the swell we had in Florida. I unfortunately wasn’t able to see the front runners with the swell, which was from Saturday to Tuesday. I went Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Sunday wasn’t associated with Florence, but was the sell from Tropical Storm Issac and Hurricane Helene, so I won’t be posting pictures from that day.

I went out Wednesday morning and there were some large swells, but it kept growing all morning long. Easy overhead sets during the late morning!

Now the day after the big swell was extremely fun! In the morning, it was nuking!!! I went out in the evening. It shrunk but were still some rib high sets and the winds were offshore all day long thanks to Hurricane Florence to our north.
