The past few days have been awesome! We had a local nor easter form on Tuesday and that lasted until Friday morning, when a secondary cold front (Wasn’t really apart of the original cold front. It was attached to the low pressure that is currently hitting OBX) passed through at 3am, bring NW winds. The winds have been offshore ever since. It seems like it has been forever since St. Augustine has had offshore winds. Friday morning was going off. Surfers were telling me it was shoulder+, super heavy, wide open barrels. Well, I missed that so I went in the evening for low tide, and it was pretty fun still. The swell was 4.8ft @ 8sec. Below are some shots from Friday evening.

Here is a beautiful wave on the outside. They were lined up nicely, peeling right
The next day, which was Saturday, was absolutely going off!! There were two peaks on the south side of the pier. One was a peeling left off the pier and the other was a split peak about 100 yards south. It was amazing, until the NW winds started blowing too strong (St. Aug pier recorded gusts 25mph+), then it got choppy. The swell was 3ft @ 8 seconds that morning. Here are my shots from Saturday morning.
Here is an empty left as the wind started to get semi strong.

Then today came. The swell was rising extremely fast all morning. I linked up with Gabe Kling and Chris Ropero at the Pier for about a 45 minute session. The winds were gusting 10-15mph out of the northwest and the temperature was 50.1F. It was cold shooting from the beach, but Gabe and Chris were having fun in the larger surf. Below are the shots I took this morning.
Chris was pretty hyped to get out there and surf after coming back from his trip in Nica.
But then the last wave of Chris’s session, a solid barrel took his board’s life.
Here is the sequence that took Chris (@chrisropero) board.
Here is Chris and Gabe walking back from their drift with Chris holding his broken board.
Here are some more of Chris from today

The past few days have been a blast! Tomorrow is the big day! Forecast shows 9.7ft @ 11 seconds in St. Augustine with west winds of 6-10mph all day. Should be super fun if our sandbars can handle it.
