Quiksilver brings the ever stylish Andy Nieblas to put their boardshorts to the test in Java
It’s 1976, Gerald Ford is the President of the United States of America, Malcolm Fraser is the Prime Minister of Australia. Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs have just started Apple Computers; and Terry Fitzgerald is in Java with his single fin.
It’s 2023, Joe Biden is the President of the United States of America, Anthony Albanese is the Prime Minister of Australia. Khabane Lame is the biggest Tik Toker in the world; and Andy Nieblas is in Java with Terry’s single fin.
Neiblas’ surfing is an ever-evolving tribute to style. He surfs with the grace of bygone days and rides boards as unique as his personality. Although he won a few longboarding titles as an amatuer, Andy couldn’t care less about chasing trophies these days – he’d much prefer driving his van up and down the coast, searching for new waves and good times.
In 1971, Quiksilver introduced the scallop hem allowing greater movement while surfing. The scallop shape merged function and style, becoming a timeless, iconic boardshort.
