Braeden just got back from a month in Costa. The 11 year old grom from Flagler Beach was trying to escape the unusually crazy cold water here in Florida. Braeden is a 3X East Coast Champion, a second year Eastern Surfing Association All Star Team member (youngest ever be named to the team), a 2X Rip Curl Search east coast finalist and a Volcom TCT Tour coast finalist. Braeden qualified for the highly competitive Rip Curl Grom Search National Finals in California in 2016 and for the Volcom TCT Tour Championships in 2016. He currently competes in the elite USA Surfing Series. After a few more trips back down to his favorite surf spot in Costa over the next couple months he will head out to California for a month this summer to compete.
Braeden tested three of his Channel Islands boards from his quiver and is looking forward to heading back down there to test a few more models (he has three more Merricks being shaped for him!)
The water temperature in Costa was 82 degrees which was more than the sum of the air (at 28 degrees) and the water temp (50 degrees) here at home.
Braeden is a team rider for O’Neill (https://us.oneill.com/blogs/groms/bra…) along with the incredible support of his sponsors including Channel Islands, Nixon, FCS, Sun Bum, Oakley and of course The Surf Station.
