According to some of the locals over here, this is the longest flat spell they’ve ever seen during this time of year. With only six days remaining in the 6 Star PRIME sunset event, and an extremely bleak forecast, tomorrow contest organizers are going to run heats at small sunset point (The inside reef) and the wave across the channel (kammieland) simultaneously, as there looks to be a small bump in swell and that may be the only option to keep from canceling the contest. Pretty crazy.
Over here, my hawaii vacation 2010 continues, which is just fine by me. Don’t get me wrong I’d love some real waves during my stay, but it’s hard to feel bad for yourself hanging in such a cool place regardless of what the waves look like. Here’s a little sample of some of today’s activities. And by the way, I am not a fan of SUP’ing and did not set foot on one. I just rode a longboard behind Gabe and my buddy Christian while they SUP’ed it up.
Below is the hawaii forecast for the next 5 days, in face height. Looks like an EC forecast to me. At least it’s coming up, the last two days of ‘1 to 3’ feet with poor conditions haven’t been cutting it.
Looks like you’re having a good trip Zander…enjoying the videos. Hope you get some waves soon.
