So, here’s a few shots of some St Augustine locals tearing up the last storm’s swell. You know the one, it didn’t even merit a name! It came early and provided Surfers two glorious days of waves that kept boards waxed and parking lots full. I love those days; it makes taking photos easy. The lineup is full and stays that way until dark. Regarding the rest of the summer, to anyone who asks I tell them it’s going to be exciting! The Caribbean is already on fire! Hurricane Beryl is now the earliest category 4 storm on record. Which is only a precursor of things to come.
For those of you that follow me @sick.fish.creations, you know that I keep a close eye on our waves here in St Augustine, Jacksonville, and Flagler. This summer I plan to do the same with the storms that affect Florida. I hope, with a bit of luck to travel the Coastline and capture some amazing shots during several of the big swells. I of course pray that Floridians avoid any direct impact; after serving several years in the Florida National Guard on Hurricane Duty, I know what kind of devastation the winds and floodwaters can bring. None the less, most times the damage is slight, and the Surf is kicking!!!
