Kevin Schulz is one of our favorite surfers to watch in small waves. In this video he rides the new Mashup model – a design collaboration between Dan Mann and Rob Machado that incorporates the very best of the Seaside and Dominator.
The Mashup should be ridden at the same volume as your Seaside and Dominator, and sized right between the two.
This Helium shape is our new favorite for surf in the shin high to well overhead range because of how versatile the design is. It distributes volume generously through the forward two thirds, but becomes thin and bladed through the back third, with enough rocker to crank turns with ease on rail, both in the pocket or on the shoulder.
The Mashup is well suited to many surfers of many skill sets, in a wide variety of wave types and conditions.
