We live in an incredible and beautiful place. This video is a little home movie of some of that.
Ode to Crescent Beach from Rachel Bardin on Vimeo.
The other day Aslyn and I had one of those perfect Saint Augustine experiences. We launched kayaks from Genung’s fish camp in Crescent beach and went across the intercoastal waterway up into Moses Creek a bit. The wind was really calm with perfectly clear skies. When we got back to the fish camp, Johnny the owner offered us up some clam chowder, fresh steamed oysters and clams in a butter/white wine sauce. It was almost too perfect.
After that, I met up with Jacob and the dogs. Video and film are in many ways for me, a study of motion. The fun thing with these little go pros are the angles you can get because they are so small. So, we got some shots of the Peanut and Gus doing their acrobatics for tennis balls and sticks.
Between these two events is sandwiched some logging from a few days back. Beautiful little peelers. I was experimenting with mounting the camera to my hand plane. It makes for some bumpy movement shots but I included some of that wipeout chaos for good measure.
