Cheeky Women
For many of us, surfing is an all out sport. When the waves call, you answer.
With the sport being predominately masculine, like most are, us girls have to stick together when it comes to finding those perfect gems in the ocean. While surfing asks you to be calm and receptive to the waves, sometimes when the bikinis start moving and things are hanging out, it becomes less of an escape and more of a race to cover up before anyone sees. While annoying, it’s a necessity most of us have endured and probably don’t think twice about.
But let me ask you this: Why?
Why go through that bi-weekly wax? Why not wear your favorite top that is extra comfortable, but doesn’t support as much? Why double, triple, and even quadruple check to make sure your lady bits are safe and secure when Aunt Flow visits? Why put so much expectation on ourselves?
I encourage you to put those annoying thoughts away. To empower yourself and your tribe to be exactly who you are! Encourage those around you to accept themselves and to spread the good vibes! Hairy legs, uncooperative tops, the inevitable bodily functions and all! The video below is from our friend and Billabong Team Rider, Lauren Hill, hilariously showing some of the very thoughts and happenings that we all have been through at least once. Get ready for a laugh and a “hell yeah”! Join in on the movement and comment your thoughts. We’d love to hear your stories, and we’ll see you out in the water!
