Hey everyone! Let me start off by telling you a little bit about myself. My name is Haley, I’m 17 years old from Flagler Beach and I’m a Surf Station/Girl Next Door team rider. I’m coming at ya from Rincon, Puerto Rico and the nice folks in charge of this awesome site hooked me up with a blog to share my time spent here and beyond. So kick back, relax, and thanks for reading!
It’s already my 5th day here in paradise. After an early morning flight out of Orlando International my friend and photographer for www.mysurfingphoto.com Angelo Cordero picked me up from the airport in Aguadilla. It was freezing when I left Florida at 5am the morning, however when I arrived in PR needless to say I was burning up in my sweat pants and hoodie. We went to Wilderness and it was huge! The locals were calling it 15-20 foot. It was a little too big for me to paddle out, so instead I opted to watch some of my friends and the Graves brothers get towed into some epic waves. We made our way home to Ricon and went down the hill to Maria’s, where I found some fun, more manageable surf.
The surf dropped the next day, and then it was on for New Years! I had an a great time with great people and even ending up running down the hill at night with Leif… barefoot! The next day the waves were still small so we all just kicked back. There are a lot of yankee’s here and they make fun of me saying I have a country accent, Florida born and raised is what I say to them! Saturday the wind was a little different so I surfed at Sandy’s Beach… with about 200 of my closest friends. I managed to get a few and had fun. Here’s me about to paddle out
Today the surf was very small. I surfed at Pool’s for about 2 hours where there were a rideable fun little rights and lefts. I also started to get a little home-sick, so I talked to my best friend Gillian on the phone today. She is the best. My friend Angelo where I am staying lives at the top of the hill where there are many trees. We ventured down into the woods today with a machette and found a huge stock of banana’s. Looks like I know what I’ll be eating for breakfast a lot!
We enjoyed our SundayFunday by relaxing, cooking chicken and rice and beans for dinner. and watching NFL football. Good game Dolphins you almost had ’em at the end! And for the Jags, better luck next time. Thank you so much for reading and I look forward to sharing the rest of my adventure’s with ya’ll!
Go Haley go! Good job on Bloggin’!!!
WOW, Just WOW awesome thanks for sharing!
