Wave height is knee to thigh high range or so, occasionally some larger sets here and there. Mixed up conditions out there with the strong S winds early. The marine forecast is calling for for the wind to shift SW/W this afternoon, calling for frequent gusts up to 40 knots. On the local buoy the early morning wave height measurement is 2.0 feet at between 7 and 12 seconds, down in size from yesterdays 3.9 feet at 6 seconds. 10:30 am: Mid morning photos are up in box #2 and the wind has really picked up, blowing into the waves. It will likely blow it smaller . Super gusty strong offshroes at report time…

2:30 pm: The waves are getting beaten down smaller and smaller as the offshore wind kills the incoming SE swell. Check the spectrum on the buoy to see the swell is west now (primarily) blowing the waves out and away, killing the incoming swell.. See the surf (several surf spots) on one page live here all the way till dark tonight

8:45 pm: We checked the waves just before dark. The wind laid down some so the SE lines were allowed to filter in a little. True, it was way smaller than it has been, but a little smething left from the south. Here is the video

Starting with the fading east coast swell (and Vic@Sea west coast wind swell), Dean’s 7-Day Surf Forecast prognosticates small conditions for the first week in May with cooler weather behind the weekend cold front- which unfortunately did not help surf size, There is hope for a minor uptick in size starting late in the work week into next weekend, with the possibility of a decent multi-day swell kicking in during the following week.
