6:55 am: The waves have increased overnight. New easterly lines marching in at times. Not big, but still some 1-2 foot waves and it’s semi-glassy with light SW winds early.

On the the local buoy, the early wave height measurement is 2.3 feet at 10 seconds up in duration from yesterdays 2.6 feet at 6 seconds The marine forecast calls for SE winds later today.

7:40 am: There are 20 new early morning photos up in box #1 and you can see there is an increase for your Saturday. The flat spell of the past ferw days is over with some knee to waist high glassy set waves pushing in. coming in in sets, like a real small. We are not ready to call it that yet, as our eyes still can’t believe it’s not flat!

Though surf size remained small during the work week, there should be a modest uptick in highly rideable ESE swell leading into and over the weekend. More good news- models are hinting that the tropics will stir up one (or more) systems during the last 10 days in August.as we climb the bell curve into the heart of hurricane season activity.
