7:30 am: Very cool at beach this morning. The wind is strong from the NE @ 21-24 knots. Wave size @ 2-3 feet with larger set waves. Choppy, with mostly poor form On our local buoy the early morning reading is 6.6 feet at 6 seconds, down from last night but up from yesterday mornings 5.9 feet at 6 seconds. 8:00 am: Early morning photos are up and posted in box #1 and you can see it’s very choppy. Not any bigger than yesterday, even though the wind blew hard onshore all night. Waves size looks around waist to chest high. There are likely some larger peaks than that. Lots of current from N to S. The marine forecast calls for the wind to continue strong sideonshore all day again today.

9:45 am: choppy to rough with a little more ummph to it looking at it as we head toward mid day. The sun is poking through once in a while. The whole ocean looks like it is moving south as cool air and cooler water move in from the north. It’s a very much super choppy looking ocean….

12:45 pm: New afternoon photos are up and posted in box #2 and you can see we have sizable choppy waves at the pier. Some lefts pushing down the beach at times. Some coming off the pier and look quite fun. Seeing some shoulder high set waves at times. Dumping over many times . Lots of erosion going on….

The week-long onshore flow combined with TS Tammy’s lingering ground swell produced sizeable surf for the Tommy Tant Memorial in Flagler Beach with wind lighter for the contest!. Dean’s Surf Forecast carries through the contest into Halloween (trick or treat?) and will be detailing the next sizeable swell building through the second half of the work week.
