6:50 am: The surf has dropped overnight. Much smaller than yesterday but still swell left, and it has glassed off overnight. Semi-glassy to glassy waves @ 1.5 to 2.5 feet is the early morning call. On our local buoy the early morning reading is 3.9 feet at 10 seconds down from yesterdays 6.2 feet at 10 seconds. You can watch the waves firsthand on our live surf cam page.

7:40 am: There are 37 early morning photos up in box #1 and you can see it’s smaller than yesterday. Way more spread out this morning as the swell wanes. The good news is, the wind is offshore so it’s semi-glassy to glassy early. A little lump to it but overall it’s fairly clean. Waves size looks about thigh to waist high on the sets, and there may be some peaks bigger than that, to around rib high on some peaks. The current has slowed way down as the ocean mellows out. Looks like a super nice day at the beach, with lots of sunshine….

11:10 am: The wind is clocking so not as glassy as earlier and in fact will get choppy if / when the current marine forecast fully happens and the wind clocks more north. This time of year is so tricky as a NW wind makes for / allows for clean surf, while N winds can chop up the surf. Somewhere in between with the wind NNW and waffling one way or the other can make all the difference between good, clean, offshore wind surf, and choppy, messed up, sideshore or sideonshore wind surf.

2:25 pm: New afternoon photos are up and posted in box #2 and you can see the wind is not too strong and yes there is swell left for your afternoon surf session. Swell on the buoy offshore and swell along the beach with some easily waist high waves at times. It gets dark earlier now, and should be waves all the way up till dark tonight….
