7:20 am: Offshore wins this morning so clean surf. It’s smaller than yesterday. Wave size around 1 foot. Our local buoy the early wave height reading is 2.3 feet at 13 seconds, down from yesterdays 3.0 feet at 13 seconds. The marine forecast is calling west winds today, shifting NW tonight ahead of a very strong cold front. The water temperature is measured at 58.8 degrees at The Pier this morning. 8:00 am: Early morning photos are up and posted in box #1 and you can see the wind is offshore and it’s clean. Glassy and lined up, just small overall. How small? How big? Take a look a the last 4 photos in the slideshow. That wave has to be over knee high, probably not waist high, but maybe thigh high? Super glaaay and some waves are peeling off. The offshore wind should keep it clean all morning and into the afternoon too. Today will the last ‘not super cold’ day, as much colder weather is due here over the weekend, maybe even the coldest weather of the year so far. So todday may be a good day to catch some fun small wave peelers ahead of likely big drop in the water temperature….

Left up from yesterday:
2:00 pm: New afternoon photos are up and posted in box #2 and you can see we have waves to ride for your Thursday afternoon. It is small, weak, and mushy, but there are some knee to thigh high waves to be found. The photos were taken at Crescent Beach. While there shooting the afternoon photos I took some photos of where South Beach Grill used to be. Can you believe the restaurant building is now completely gone? Not exactly sure what this now County owned property is going to be in the future

5:00 pm: Here is a late afternoon video clip from the pier. . You can see it’s small and weak for your late afternoon update….
