7:25 am: The wave size is looking larger than yesterday.. Wave size @ 3-4++ feet. Our local winds are currently NNW @ 8-17 knots. adding a fair amount of cross chop and drift. The marine forecast calls for strong N winds shifting NNW this afternoon. Ourlocal buoy the early morning wave height reading is 6.9 feet at 11 seconds up from yesterdays 5.2 feet @ 10 seconds. The water temperature is measured at 81.9 degrees offshore again this morning. You can see the ocean live by viewing The Surf Station Cam Page here.
.
8:00 am: Early morning photos are posted in box #1 and it’s raining cats and dogs at the beach. I tried to shoot in between rain sessions but the rain won as far as it’s in the photos. Large, lumpy, drifty surf, with waves rib to shoulder high with some head high to well overhead set waves. Breaking on the far outside at times, even on the higher tide. Looks like a super super hard paddle out...
.
1:00 pm: Some large lefts pushing through at times. Still sideshorish winds so not clean. The surf is way cleaner down south. With that said, the wind is trying to back around here, and it’s helping some… .
.4:00 pm: New afternoon to mid afternoon photos are up in box #2 and you can see we have sizable waves for your Monday afternoon. Strong N swell with lots of push. Likely some overhead set waves but hard ot tell because there were no surfers catching waves. Maybe after the 5 O’Clock crew gets out there, we can see surfers catching waves. You may be able to see some then, live, by viewing The Surf Station Cam Page here.
