Richard Prause from Grasshopper Surfboards just sent us some photos of future surfboards that will be making their way into the Surf Station. We are really happy to get them in and can’t wait to see how they turn out.
Richard's shaping room is a shed in his backyard. I think he does his laundry in there too.
Richard is an insanely talented shaper. Everyone who has had one of his shapes usually can’t shut up about how great they are. Count me in with that group.
This is my bamboo deck, eps quad fish. 5'7 x 19 3/4 x 2 1/4. We are going to get two shapes like this in the shop, a 5'6 and a 5'10, quads but just the standard poly construction. If you want the fancy stuff, we will gladly help you custom order it.
the future is fast and fun
The 2nd board I got was a nose rider. It does exactly that. It's 9'3, double stringer, classic density foam (good and heavy!). Richard hand made the fin. Rides like a dream. We will be getting 4 Grasshopper longboards in the shop soon.
