Today was exceptional. Today was unbelievable. Today was one of those days I will never forget. I went to the pier an hour after high tide and it was firing! Those were the best waves I have ever seen in my short surf photography career. Head high barrels, spitting left and right. It was so heavy this morning. I started watching this swell in the forecast last week and I was stoked to see the swell be consistently forecasted the same throughout the weekend and early week. When I went to the pier, there were only about 10 surfers out which was amazing to see. It was firing and there was a minimal surf crowd scattered across several peaks across the beach from the pier to the State Park. The current was ripping. It took about 20 minutes to drift from the pier to the Anastasia State park entrance. It was absolutely insane. After that heavy session, I ventured home with a sore calf and knee. Three hours later I went back to the pier to shoot once again. The lighting was amazing and the waves were a lot smaller but were still shredable. Below are the pictures I took throughout the day. Enjoy 🙂
