Were the waves good today? I have no idea. I couldn’t see them thanks to the super dense fog. Just kidding! I went out at around 8am to the local pier and the fog was some of the worst I have ever seen. You couldn’t see 100 feet in front of you. This made for some extremely challenging conditions for me. My camera wouldn’t focus, the fog darkened the area so I had to use a slower shutter speed (The slower the shutter speed, the longer the shutter stays open. You need a fast shutter speed of 1/1000th or more for sharp shots and I had to use 1/640th), and the waves were breaking about 100 feet south of the pier (Super low visibility). With all this being said, I still got some great shots and the fog added some drama. Below are the shots. Enjoy:-)

This shot shows how dense the fog was. He ways about 50 feet in front of me
The Pelicans were just chillin’ out while I shot

Even with the challenging conditions, the shots turned out good. I’m hoping the swell sticks around long enough for the Oniel Grom Tour in Jacksonville on Saturday. More blogs to come soon!
