This morning had some challenging conditions. The buoy offshore of St. Augustine was recording wave heights of 4.9 ft @ 13 seconds. Now, this may sound like the dream, but it was not. Thirteen second wave intervals was a bit too much for the sandbars at the St. Augustine Pier. There were numerous closeouts with the highly angled northeast swell. Some of the sets were chest to head high. When the waves didn’t closeout, the lefts went for several feet. The winds were out of the northwest at around 8 mph. Below are the pictures that I took. Enjoy 🙂

The offshore winds, plus the back-lighting from the sun, made for some fantastic shots of the sea mist.

Tristan surfed a good amount of waves, so I numerous pictures of him.
Today was large. Today was fun. Hoping for more swell tomorrow and Friday!
