Few times has a Street League Skateboarding competition occurred in Florida, let alone the Super Crown World Championship Finals.
A sold out event, the SLS Super Crown World Championship took place Nov. 13 to Nov. 14, 2021, at the Riverfront Plaza in downtown Jacksonville, 2 Independent Dr., Jacksonville.
This year Jagger Eaton won first place, with Lucas Rabelo placing second, and Gustavo Ribeiro placing third.
In the women’s division, Pamela Rosa won first place, with Rayssa Leal placing second, and Momiji Nishiya placing third.
Over 40 of the world’s best skateboarders participated in this Street League Competition, 21 of which also competed in the 2020 Olympics.
This event also offered venues and a public skatepark for local and visiting skateboarders to enjoy outside of the competition.
SLS was founded by Rob Dyrdeck in 2010, with his goal of growing the acceptance of street skateboarding worldwide and improving street skateboarding competitions. Since then, the Street League Skateboarding Tour has hosted competitions around the world for the world’s best skateboarders.
This event also attracted visitors to local businesses, restaurants, bars, and more. After selling out of tickets, Jacksonville officials are now considering having more events in hopes of bringing the community together.
