Enjoy some unexpectedly fun surf in Flagler Beach, Fla.
When I woke yesterday morning, the ocean was making herself heard. Before opening the shutters to let in the morning sun, I could hear the rumble of the waves. As if the water was flowing through my back yard instead of blocks to the East where the ocean lie.
Checking our local buoy, it all made sense. My eyes were met with a sight rarely seen…seven foot readings at around 10 second intervals. Overnight, the buoy readings had increased two fold, and it showed. The waves at day break appeared to be in the three to four foot range already, a treat after the small scale surf we’ve been experiencing.
