Whenever I go surf with Tom, he usually brings about 3 boards and a mess of fins to play around with. But lately, he’s been pretty steady on the Neckbeard. And he rips on it, even in thigh high surf.
Like most of his other boards, Tom ordered his with a twist. The 5’8 EPS has a swallow tail instead of the chopped square tail of the standard Neckbeard. Tom loves fins too so he has the 5 plug option which has allowed him to experiment with different quad and thruster set ups.
Tom should add Futures canards 3/4″ off the side front fins for an even greater choice of variables and may be pleasantly surprised at the improved drive and speed. btw, be sure that after routing for plugs to use exacto or steak knife to remove a 1/4 wide strip of foam from bottom of routed opening to underside of deck glass to tie in plugs with strength of deck.
Tom is the Man!
