Braeden Kopec Headed to Global Championships in California
Nine year old Surf Station Team Rider Braeden Kopec competed in the Florida stop of Volcom’s East Coast TCT Surf Tour held in Jacksonville. The event took place in perfect 3 to 5 foot plus surf. It is one of three stops for the Tour on the East Coast. In all there are 13 events worldwide including contests in Brazil, Australia, Latin America, Japan, New Zealand, Europe, USA, Indonesia, South Africa, and Puerto Rico. Competitors must place in the top two of their age division at one of the tour stops in order to qualify for one of the highly coveted invitations to compete at the famous surf break of Lowers in California for the Volcom TCT Global Championships. Braeden is one of only 32 kids in his age group to qualify worldwide! In August Braeden brought took an East Coast Title and immediately followed it up with a win at the NKF 53rd annual Pro-Am held in Cocoa Beach before his most recent accomplishment of qualifying to go California.
