The Surf Station, the longest operating surf shop in St. Augustine Fla., celebrates their 38th anniversary with a backyard barbeque, live music, raffles, and hosting premieres of new surf films, The Physics of Noseriding and Surf Film.
The celebration took place in the parking lot of the Surf Station, 1020 Anastasia Blvd. St. Augustine, and ran from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 3, 2022.
Josh Richardson and Callie Wade provided pulled pork sandwiches for family, friends, and neighbors who could attend the event.
The Airtight Band, Shawn Ryan, Luke Foley, Jeremy Yetman, and Tim Kelley, also contributed to the Surf Station’s anniversary with live music from 6 to 8 p.m.
During the raffle, customers had the opportunity to win a new Channel Islands Bonzer surfboard and a new Softech Bomber soft top surfboard. Goodie bags, with leashes, traction pads, and more, were also given away to others who could answer trivia questions correctly.
After the raffle, “The Physics of Noseriding”, by Lauren Hill, and “Surf Film”, by Drew Miller and Jacob Breitger, held showings at the celebration from 8 to 9 p.m.
Originally an Amoco gas station, the Surf Station opened in 1984 with the intention to provide and support the surfing community of St. Augustine. Since then, the Surf Station contains the world’s largest surfboard collection and has provided support to the whole St. Augustine community.
The Surf Station Foundation
The Surf Station announces the Surf Station Foundation, a nonprofit organization with a mission to introduce surfing, conservation, and the love of the ocean to kids who might not otherwise have that opportunity.
“Our goals are to evoke confidence, inspire environmental awareness, and improve the emotional and physical wellbeing of kids from disadvantaged and underserved communities, locally, and in other parts of our world,” the Surf Station Foundation wrote.
Thank you to all who continue to support the Surf Station throughout the years.
