A few months ago Noa Mizuno released a very good 8-minute film titled “It’s Easier Done Than Said.”
About it, we wrote: “This 8-minute film from Summer Street dropped on YouTube with little hype or fanfare. Yet, it’s one of the best surf films we’ve watched this year. Filmed in pumping surf in Hawaii, Fiji, Indonesia and South America, it really highlights Mizuno’s range. From riding a twin-fin to a gun, and all boards in-between, Mizuno has that inherent ability to make surfing look beautiful. Nothing he does looks forced or out of place. Even when he’s taking off under-the-lip on an 8-foot Backdoor bomb.”
Today, Mizuno released a bonus section from the film, featuring 10-minutes of very-good clips that ended up on the cutting room floor.
Shot in all of the same locations as we saw in the film, the bonus clip is nearly as good as the feature itself. It says a lot about Mizuno’s surfing that he was pretty much able to make two films at the same time, without much drop in the quality of clips.
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: Mizuno is wildly underrated, and one of our favorite surfers to watch.
