When I got word that the House of Vans was opening in Brooklyn on October 16th, I went online to find a way to get up there to get in a skate trip before Winter sweeps in. With Jet Blue’s $69 each way ticket, it was a no brainer. I got in early Saturday and hopped a few trains to meet up with the newlywed Brownleys’ before Alex and I set off to the Sector 9 Broadway bomb. When we arrived, we had some older men told us we missed 500 skateboarders by 5 minutes. Oh well, were on the upper west side, why not go skate the newly built Chelsea Pier Park. If you’re, in Manhattan, make it a point to check it out. Plenty of concrete was well poured correctly. Then we headed back to Brooklyn to get a BQE session in before heading out to the House of Vans and eventually a Weekends show that eventually put me out face down for the night.
Sunday started rough until we grabbed some brunch and pushed around the city for the day. Overall, a great trip and I can’t wait to get back!
