Thanks for tuning in. I am going to start my posts with a column called “What they ride”. This column will feature local surfers and their favorite boards. It wont always be hot shredders, 90 lb groms or even performance surfboards but this post does contain one hot shredder and a performance step-down.. enjoy! Feedback is welcome in the comments.

Josh is a local stand out from Vilano(shh) to Butler Beach and a long time fan of the TPatterson surfboards. His most recent favorite is the performance step down model, the Scorpion. Forward width, pulled in swallow tail and extra foam under the chest all help a bigger guy like Josh surf light on his feet like a 90 lb grom. Thoughts from Josh on the board: “I like a little thicker, wider board. Still like to go fast so I always need something to support my weight so I can get the job done. The Scorpion does just that, it allows me to ride a shorter board which helps me perform in most Florida conditions but it paddles like a 6’2″. Best step down I have had in years!”
