XXL North Pacific Swell Filters into Central America
A few weeks back, the North Pacific was blessed with an abundance of swell from the parade of storms that also ended up producing copious amounts of snow in the California mountains. Those same swells propagate southward and some select west and northwest facing surf spots in Central and South America reap the rewards. Carlos Munoz was home in Costa Rica and scored Witch’s Rock, one of the best beachbreaks in Central America, by boat. This time of year is the dry season which means Papagallo wind conditions are common, which means smoking offshore winds for northern Costa Rica and the Pacific coast of Nicaragua.
